Micromax Andro A60 Review

The A60 Price Tag of Rs 6990 makes Andro A60 – The Cheapest Android Mobile Phone to be sold in India so far. Let’s Analyse in depth on whether A60 is worth it’s price and is worth buying at all or not?

Micromax Andro A60 Pros –

For the price of Under Rs 6990 and loaded with 3G, Android 2.1 (Eclair) and with full support built-in for Wi-Fi, bluetooth, GPS and FM Radio, and on the software side – Support for Live Wallpapers! (Not even Galaxy 3 has Live Wallpapers!) and Motion Tilt for Gallery, The Andro A60 definately looks worth it’s price. The Battery life is good and can last for 2 days if not used heavily, Call Quality is decent and The Loudspeaker is pretty loud and clear. Plus as a Launch Offer – Micromax is giving away a 2 GB Memory Card Free with every Andro.

Micromax Andro A60 Cons –

The Biggest and the Major Flaw of this otherwise Wonderful Low Cost Andro Phone is the Resistive Touchscreen. The Resistive Touchscreen and a lack of a stylus adds to the Woes of a First Time User and can make Text Messaging a pretty bad experience as the Resistive Touch Screen takes multiple attempts to recognize the touch input and you start getting irritated and if you have not calibrated it correctly, you will have problems using touch all the time – like when you try to press ‘Z’ on the virtual keyboard instead ‘A’ will appear. Even Swype will give you problems coz of the Resistive Touchscreen.

Micromax Andro A60 Verdict –

For The Price of Just Rs 6990 with Android 2.1 Eclair, 3G, Wi-fi and GPS Connectivity along with Micro SD Expandable Memory upto 32 GB and as the company is targeting the first time Android users, we know they won’t complain with what they are getting with Micromax Andro A60.  Micromax Andro A60 is more than value for money and is the right buy for those who do not want to spend a fortune for just trying Android. But if you are willing to spend close to Rs 9000 and are looking at a bigger and better Capacitive Touch Screen, I suggest buying Spice MI-300.

Overall Rating of Micromax Andro A60 – 3/5
