Celebrating 5 Years of The YouTube Community- YouTube Turns 5 Years Old and Streams 2 Billion Video Views Per Day

Since it launched in 2005, YouTube has become one of the few properties that's much more than a domain name. Like Google, Facebook, Wikipedia, and Twitter, YouTube has become an essential service of the Internet. It's a utility, a social network, a search engine, a source of online storage, and an endless source of consternation for content owners.

YouTube was launched in April of 2005 and the first video uploaded was by co-founder Jawed Karim with a short clip titled ‘Me at the Zoo'.

On The Occasion of it's 5th Birthday, YouTube now owned by Google announced a major new milestone – YouTube now gets 2 billion views per day – According to the Google-owned site, “that's nearly double the prime-time audience of all three major U.S. television networks combined.”, 30% of which come from the U.S.

To help commemorate the occasion, YouTube is also launching a new channel of videos called “My YouTube Story”, which includes a collection of clips featuring people around the world talking about how YouTube has changed their lives. The initial batch of clips were filmed by documentary filmmaker Stephen Higgins, and some of them are quite touching. YouTube users can upload their own video stories as well; YouTube will be plotting these videos on a global map, and will also offer an interactive timeline of clips.

  1. Hey there,

I’m Kaz, CEO of the music-streaming platform VIBBIDI. I came across your impressive website and noticed it featured YouTube’s Embed Player throughout, so I wanted to extend an exclusive invitation to you that might benefit your situation.

Our mission is to be “Everything For Music”, attempting to gather all the music-related content available in one location. To show how our platform works, we’re planning to launch our very own Music Embed Player next spring.

Starting this month, we began offering limited invitations to the Users we found who have beautiful music-related sites. The community of initial Users chosen will inevitably define the product’s quality, so this is why we’re being very selective on the Users we reach out to. As such, we’d be thrilled to have people like you join our founding community.

Within our Music Embed Player, you’ll enjoy alternate versions of every song you share, from Official Videos to Live Performances, User Covers to Remixes and much more, plus Lyrics and other Share functions, essentially mirroring the full VIBBIDI experience without needing to visit the site.

All of this helps give your readers a more fulfilling listening session in addition to increasing the length of their stay on your site, resulting in a win-win situation for everyone. We’ve outlined 5 reasons you and your blog readers will love switching from a Legacy Embed Player to VIBBIDI’s New Music-Optimized Player from embed.vibbidi.net.

Now, this is how you factor in: We also intend to launch a special landing page introducing Users to the Music Embed Player’s features and benefits, with some bloggers’ posts being used as references. If you’re so inclined try out our Music Embed Player, we’d love to schedule a quick Skype call to hear your impressions; In return, we’ll feature your post on this new landing page as a demonstration to our Users and will promote your website free of charge so you can receive additional site traffic.

Please let me know if this sounds interesting to you and have a wonderful day.

    Thanks,
    Kaz

    Kazuhiro Naya
    CEO of VIBBIDI
